Dara is a fourth year MPhys student at The Queen’s College, Oxford. His research is in computational image analysis of Dr Gruszka’s work in single-molecule analysis of epigenetic inheritance using TIRF, with a focus on mathematically modelling the motion of histones and replication tracks in DNA replication.

Dara is taking modules in Particle and Biological Physics alongside his Masters’ project with Dr Gruszka and Dr Jack Miller. He has a keen interest in medical imaging and radiotherapy as well as in image analysis, and did a research internship comparing the effectiveness of AI-contouring of organs by different commercially available programs in radiotherapy planning in his local cancer centre in Derry, Ireland.

Dara is a singer, holding an academical clerkship as a tenor in the choir of Christ Church Cathedral, and hopes to maintain an active singing career alongside his Physics career.
